Welcome to the 'Red Door' Self Catering Cottage at Ballycrissane
Our cottage is a traditional Irish Cottage lovingly restored and Irish Tourist Board Approved. The cottage is nestled amongst the rich pastures of Ballycrissane just four miles from the picturesque Portumna. We are only one hours drive from Galway City and West Coast. We are in close proximity to prime angling stretches both on the Shannon (1 mile) and Lough Derg's Northern shores, 4 miles away. Boats are available for hire at reasonable charges. Local shop, bait stockists, hairdresser, traditional pub and church are all within a few minutes walk from the house. When you stay with us you will have the best of both worlds. We are very environmentally conscious and value our environment and we want you to sample this also. Organic produce is obtainable locally. You may find very appealing our country walks, undisturbed wildlife in their natural habitats, bogs and a slow pace of life.
On the other hand if you want a more adventurous holiday, there is an abundance of options to choose from. Equestrian, Water Sports, Go-Karting, Cycling Holidays and trips to the lovely Lough Derg are readily available in the locality.
If you choose to stay with us, we don't regard you as just 'another guest'. We extend the hand of friendship to all nations and offer you a rich Irish welcome, while at the same time respecting your right to privacy.
We offer reliable baby-sitting service and children and small pets are most welcome.
