TSAVO NATIONAL PARK
Tsavo National Park in southeastern Kenya is the country's largest national park at 21,000 km2, an area half the size of the Netherlands. It is divided into two halves, Tsavo East and Tsavo West, by the Mombasa - Nairobi rail and road route, ea with its own administration and separate entrances. In addition, Tsavo West is bounded by rocky thornbush savannah and the foothills of the Shaitani lava field on the northwest, the Tanzanian border on the south, and the Taita Hills on the southeast. The ants and animals in both parks are similar, but the two areas differ greatly in terms of landscape. The relief of the two halves of the park varies between 230 m and 2170 m in altitude, with Tsavo West, whi rises mainly in the north-west and reaes its highest point in the mountains of the Chuyulu ain. The green, bush-covered range of hills was added to the park in 1983. Inside you will find one of the largest cave systems in the world. A small path allows you to circumnavigate the crest of the ridge in a 4x4 or on foot.
